VisArts Will Run a One-Week Art Camp During the Public Schools’ Spring Break

January 18, 2017 News

The Visual Arts Center of Richmond will run a one-week art camp called Spring Break ArtVenture from April 10-13. The program is timed to coincide with the spring break holidays in area public schools. The City of Richmond, Chesterfield County, Henrico County and Hanover County public schools are closed April 10-14.

“We wanted to give kids whose families aren’t able to get out of town for the break the chance to make art and have some fun,” said Stefanie Fedor, executive director of the Visual Arts Center of Richmond.

Each class is led by an experienced artist/instructor. This is the first year VisArts has offered this program.

Spring Break ArtVenture includes morning, afternoon and full-day options. Morning classes run from 9 a.m. to noon and afternoon classes run from 1 to 4 p.m. Parents can drop kids off up to a half-hour prior to the start time and must pick up their children promptly at noon or 4 p.m. unless they’re enrolled in our extended day program.

The extended day program costs an additional $75 and allows kids to stay at VisArts during the lunch hour and until 5 p.m. Children bring their own lunch. Parents who wish to register their kids for the extended day program should call VisArts at (804) 353-0094 after they have successfully registered for both morning and afternoon classes.

Please note that classes do not meet on Friday, April 14.
