Classes
Found Object Sculpture (Ages 9-11)
Let’s make sculptures from found and recycled objects! For inspiration We will look to the work of artists like Nailah Taman, Atsuko Tanaka, and Betye Saar. We will also discuss eco-friendly art and collaborate to make a sustainable classroom environment. A large part of this class will involve walking around the neighborhood and engaging our senses through the avant-garde practice of the dérive, or drift, around Richmond.
Special Notes
- Students may go outside in the neighborhood for walks, so dress accordingly.
This class does not meet on 7/4.
This is an On-site course. Students must follow current CDC + VDH guidance outlined on our website: visarts.org
