ONSITE: Analog Inkwash for Comics

Inkwash is a classic in the comics toolkit– a forgiving and beautiful way to add tone and depth to your comics, that is also really fun to do. Come learn some tricks of the trade with comics artist Solomon Brager, author of the graphic memoir Heavyweight. We will practice different techniques and then apply them to the creation of a short form inkwash comic during this workshop.

About the Instructor

Solomon Brager

Solomon Brager is a cartoonist and writer living in Brooklyn, New York. They are a 2023-2025 Jerome Hill Artists Fellow, a member of the Pinko magazine editorial collective and the director of community engagement at Jewish Currents magazine. Their comics and research have appeared in The Nib, Jewish Currents, ArtForum, World War III Illustrated, Pinko Magazine, Refract Journal, and The New Inquiry, among other publications. They hold a PhD from Rutgers University, New Brunswick.
