ONSITE: Introduction to Sewing (B)
Learn basic sewing techniques and create a project of your choice with instructor guidance. Weekly demonstrations will include sewing machine basics, fabric basics, simple seams, simple hems, zipper application, how to take body measurements, and how to follow a sewing pattern. The first classes will be demonstration-based and the final classes will focus on the student making their own beginner project.
Special Notes
- Basic sewing machines are supplied, but you may bring your own if you prefer. For Amanda's class, students must bring supplies prior to class starting.
Classes are confirmed one week prior to the start date. In order to help us confirm classes, please register as early as possible.
This is an On-site course. Students must follow current Covid-19 protocols, as outlined on our website. For more info visit visarts.org. Lauri Jenkins
Lauri Jenkins started sewing as a young girl. At just the age of 8, she was cutting patterns for paying clients. Today, she creates womenswear that are sold in various boutiques throughout the US. You may view her work at www.laurianda.com.
