ONSITE: Introduction to Stained Glass (C)
Students will learn the fundamentals of building a stained glass panel or 3D object from start to finish. The lessons will encompass pattern design, glass scoring/breaking, grinding, foiling, soldering, framing, and applying various patinas. Each student will have made at least one piece they can bring home and immediately display at the end of the class.
Special Notes
- There is lead in the solder used, pregnant students should check with OBGYN before registering. If you have prior stained glass experience, the instructor can accommodate some more intermediate techniques. This class includes a "starter pack" of glass with the supply fee. Additional glass may want to be bought at a later date.Classes are confirmed one week prior to the start date. In order to help us confirm classes, please register as early as possible.
This is an ONSITE course. All onsite students are required to be vaccinated against COVID-19. Students are expected to adhere to our COVID-19 policies. Onsite courses do not come with studio access outside of class time. Paid open studio access is available through our Studio Access Program. For more info please visit visarts.org.
About the Instructor
Letitia Diggs
Letitia Harris is a Fine Artist from Richmond, Virginia. She grew up attending Richmond Public Schools and started working for RPS soon after college. She received her BFA from Virginia State University in 2014 with a concentration in Illustration and Printmaking. Since then, she has been teaching Fine Arts for the Public School Systems for over 5 years. She currently teaches Middle School Art for Chesterfield County Public Schools. She learned the Art of Stained Glass from, Master Teacher, Mary McNeil while attending the Art After School Program at Visarts. She has been creating stained glass since 2003.
