ONSITE: Making + Sitting: Introduction to Joinery
Build upon your woodworking skills and expand your practice. Learn more in-depth joinery techniques and creative problem solving as we design and construct a stool.
Special Notes
- Basic knowledge of woodworking is highly recommended. Students will need personal protective equipment during class, ie: safety glasses, and hearing protection.Classes are confirmed one week prior to the start date. In order to help us confirm classes, please register as early as possible.
This instructor also speaks Spanish.
This is an ONSITE course. All onsite students are required to be vaccinated against COVID-19. Students must follow social distancing protocols and wear masks at all times. Onsite courses do not come with studio access outside of class time. Paid open studio access is available through our Studio Access Program. For more info please visit visarts.org.
About the Instructor

Eric Rivera
Eric Rivera Barbeito was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, received his BFA from the Maryland Institute College of Art in 2017, and relocated to Richmond, VA, where he currently lives and works as a cabinet maker and visual artist. Rivera Barbeito was an Artist-in-Residence at the Vermont Studio Center and ACRE, and has been included in group exhibitions at Towson University, School 33, Terrault Contemporary and Tiger Strikes Asteroid Philadelphia. He is currently an Artist-in-Residence at the Visual Arts Center of Richmond.
