Classes

Drawing the Figure

Learn to draw the human body in charcoal, graphite, and ink! All drawings in this class will be done from direct observation of a live model. Through hands-on demonstrations, artistic anatomy lessons, experimentation sessions, and by studying the work of historical and contemporary artists, we will delve deep into the art and technique of representing the figure in a variety of poses and settings. While a focus will be placed on realistic drawing, all styles and skill levels are welcome!

About the Instructor

Grace Mae Huddleston

Hello! I am an artist and educator. My teaching centers around empowering teens and adults of all skill levels to deepen their connection to art making. I have taught in community centers, schools, and universities. My teaching emphasizes technical skill building and I love it when my students put stories, personality, and deeper meaning into their creations. I primarily teach all things 2D from drawing to painting to mixed media but also have experience with textiles and performance art! In my own art practice, I create 2D works that work with creative writing to build fantastical worlds and tell stories.
