ONSITE: Audio-Visual: Sound in Film

This class introduces theories of audio-visual relationships and sound design in filmmaking. Each student will create one short film and record, edit, and mix sound for the film. They will learn on-site recording, foley, and ADR in the making process.

Special Notes

  • Students are required to bring notebooks or note-taking devices. They will supply their own digital cameras and SD cards or use their smartphones with video-recording capability to shoot the film. A hard drive for editing is preferred but not required. Bring the assets home with you with a flash drive.

This instructor speaks Mandarin Chinese, but the class is held in English.

This is an On-site course. Students must follow current Covid-19 protocols, as outlined on our website. On-site courses do not come with studio access outside of class time. Paid open studio access is available through our Studio Access Program. Please visit for more information.
