Classes

ONSITE: Continuing Wheel Throwing

You’ve taken at least one intro to the wheel class. You’re comfortable centering clay and throwing and trimming basic forms. In this class, we’ll build on the fundamentals to throw taller, more refined vessels. Class demos will focus on techniques and tools to create handles, lids, spouts, bottles and decorative surfaces.

Special Notes

  • This class does not meet on 6/19.
This class is designed for someone who has taken one or two wheel classes and would like to ease into the next steps. Students should bring a towel and/or apron to class. Each student should have their own basic tool kit, two bats and bat pins (see supply list).
You will receive 25 pounds of clay; additional clay is available for purchase.

Classes are confirmed one week prior to the start date. In order to help us confirm classes, please register as early as possible.
This is an On-site course. Students must follow current Covid-19 protocols, as outlined on our website. On-site courses do not come with studio access outside of class time. Paid open studio access is available through our Studio Access Program. Please visit visarts.org for more information.
