ONSITE: Introduction to 3D Printing

This course provides a comprehensive overview of the process involved with 3D printing objects from an idea to a final project using objects we print in class. The course covers an introduction to different methods of modeling, guidelines for sourcing and compiling 3D models from online sources and archives, 3D scans, and experimental Vector extrusion and manipulation in 3D modeling programs.

Special Notes

  • VisArts does have computers, but having a laptop with high processing power is highly recommended. Students should expect to come to every class; learning this software is time consuming and requires commitment and diligence. Students are highly encouraged to play with the modeling software in their own time.

This is an On-site course. Students must follow current Covid-19 protocols, as outlined on our website. On-site courses do not come with studio access outside of class time. Paid open studio access is available through our Studio Access Program. Please visit visarts.org for more information.
