Classes

ONSITE: Sanggam: Korean Slip Inlay

Expand your ceramic decoration skillset by learning Sanggam, a traditional Korean slip inlay technique. Learn the history of this traditional style as well as how to lay out designs and motifs on clay surfaces.

Special Notes

  • This class does not meet on 6/19.
Knowledge of the ceramic process is necessary as this technique can be challenging for beginners. Blank clay tiles will be provided for practice and can be finished as coasters. Students are encouraged to bring in their own leather hard pieces to decorate. Cone 6 White, black, red, blue, and yellow slip will be provided. Students are encouraged to bring their own slip, stains, or underglazes. Students are also encouraged to bring their own carving and trimming tools. Loop carving tools or any tool with a “v” shape tip will work well. Trimming tools with a wider flat blade will work well.
You will receive a half bag of clay; additional clay is available for purchase.

Instructor speaks French but the class is held in English.
Classes are confirmed one week prior to the start date. In order to help us confirm classes, please register as early as possible.
