ONSITE: The Art + The Artist: Fashion Photography and Modeling (Ages 15-18)
Whether you want to create behind-the-camera or star in your own photos, this workshop is a way to experience both sides of a fashion photo shoot! Whether you're an aspiring photographer or a model, this workshop will equip you with the skills and insights needed to create captivating fashion imagery and confidently participate in photo shoots. Learn techniques in lighting, spotting and styling locations, and model direction from both sides of the camera. Unleash your creative potential in the exciting world of fashion!
Special Notes
- Students should bring a digital camera and any outfits or propos they would like to use. You may use a smart phone. All other materials provided.

This class counts as a Special topics course in our Art League Certificate Program.

About the Instructor
Aspen DeRosa
Aspen DeRosa is a multimedia artist, teacher, and student of life. Their work celebrates play and mindfulness and seeks to create space for curiosity, pause, and joy. Using their day job at a Montessori school as inspiration, Aspen creates multimodal installations that engage all senses and consider all physical and mental abilities. The work is highly collaborative and adaptable for the viewers to engage with. Aspen’s work is heavily based on material explorations, including papermaking, natural fabric dyes, screenprinting, sound, mold-making, video, photography, performance, etc., to address topics related to play, mindfulness, and work/life balance. They received their BFA from VCU in 2019 in Photography and Film. They spent 2 years at the University of Iowa expanding their sculptural skills and teaching experience before coming to VisArts.
