ONSITE: Digital Character Design
Learn the basics of character design using Adobe Photoshop with a specific focus on fantasy, sci-fi, and video game genres. Topics will include shape and color, language, the use of visual signifiers, ideation/concept art, and some figure-drawing fundamentals.
Special Notes
- Some drawing experience strongly recommended; digital art experience also recommended but not required. Students should either bring a thumb drive or have access to a Google Drive account for the purposes of saving and transferring their work. In between classes, students should expect to do brainstorming and some sketchbook homework.
Classes are confirmed one week prior to the start date. In order to help us confirm classes, please register as early as possible.

Jess Soffian is a Richmond-based comic artist and illustrator with a passion for storytelling. Originally from Cary, NC, Jess came to Richmond to attend VCU as a BFA Communication Arts major and was delighted to discover RVA's thriving art community.
