ONSITE: Intermediate Metal JewelryONSITE: Continuing Silversmithing
Students with prior experience in silversmithing will polish their skills and learn how to work more efficiently with silver. This class, driven by student experience, will follow a loose schedule of demos and work time. Students are encouraged to bring sketches and ideas to have one-on-one discussions with the instructor to formulate a plan for successful project. Demos will include skills relevant to students’ self-chosen projects. Stone setting will be covered.
Special Notes
- Prerequisite is an intro-level proficiency with general metalsmithing and specific experience working with sterling silver. Teacher will talk with students in the first class about the projects they’ve done and the tools they have..Classes are confirmed one week prior to the start date. In order to help us confirm classes, please register as early as possible.This is an On-site course. Students must follow current Covid-19 protocols, as outlined on our website. On-site courses do not come with studio access outside of class time. Paid open studio access is available through our Studio Access Program. Please visit visarts.org for more information.

Ashley Tamber is the owner of Feral Blue, her jewelry brand, where she creates limited production and one of a kind pieces that are sold online, in stores, and at events all over the country. A Richmond native, she received her BFA from VCU in 2013.
