ONSITE: Cut-paper Collage Techniques for Design + Illustration
Learn about the art of cut-paper collage to incorporate into your design process with Featured Illustrator Adam Philip Goodman. Students will create a book cover design made using cut-paper and mixed media, using folded cutwork, free form cutting, positive-negative cutwork, silhouette cutwork, combining paper cut-outs with other mediums. We will explore different kinds of paper: found and unconventional, different methods of adhering paper together, ways to transfer drawings, and cutting out text. Finally, we will learn some background history on the art of paper cutting.
Special Notes
- Intermediate requirement: students should have working knowledge on basic principles and elements of design, typography, color theory and page layout.
Classes are confirmed one week prior to the start date. In order to help us confirm classes, please register as early as possible.
This is an On-site course. Students must follow current Covid-19 protocols, as outlined on our website. On-site courses do not come with studio access outside of class time. Paid open studio access is available through our Studio Access Program. Please visit visarts.org for more information.
