ONSITE: Short Story Writing with Mixed Media Collage (Ages 9-11)

This short story writing + collage workshop will pair writing exercises and mixed media collage projects that deepen our understanding of the subject matter and highlight the ways in which storytelling is both a written and visual endeavor. Each student completes the class with new ideas, a completed short story and a work of art that demonstrates a deeper understanding of the power of Narrative, in all its forms.

• This studio is not wheel chair accessible from the interior due to two steps, but is accessible through an exterior door.
  
  Classes are confirmed one week prior to the start date. In order to help us confirm classes, please register as early as possible.

Abby Ritt

Abby Ritt moved from New York City to Richmond in 2020 and immediately felt at home—the people, the vibe, the river! She is a parent, a teacher, a coach, a mentor, and a Girl Scout leader. She is a lover of the outdoors and of crafts. Abby’s professional background is in publishing and she has worked as both an editor and a writer; a champion of stories and those who craft them. She feels blessed to have found her people in RVA and within the creative and generous community of VisArts.
